Summer in the Catskills brings such a lush green landscape that those of you that only visit during the winter would find hard to believe. The sparkling white snow of winter and bare trees seem far away as they give way to rich, dense cover for the Beast and his friends. He can be spotted at Belleayre Beach on Pine Hill Lake getting relief from the summer heat in the refreshing water and sunning on the white sand beach. But more importantly he is there to remind visitors to “carry in, carry out”. This means he is asking for help to keep his home clean. Whatever you bring to the forest preserve, you must take home with you. You wouldn’t be very happy if your friends came to your house and left garbage on the floor, would you?
