Belleayre Mountain listed as one of Northeast’s top 10 ski areas

Highmount, NY November 6, 2007- If anyone had the chance to pick up the Long Island Newsday this past Sunday, November 4, 2007, you’d see that Belleayre gets kudos and has been listed as one of Northeast’s top 10 ski areas. The only other NY mountain to make the top 10 list was Whiteface Mountain, home of the Olympics. Does it get any better than that? Belleayre’s Superintendent, Tony Lanza, states “to be recognized by Newsday, one of the most influential newspapers in the country, is a thrill and an honor.” To quote the article “. . . the casual, friendly spirit on the mountain hasn’t changed much since it opened in 1949. Everything about the mountain is impressive, including its 3,429-foot summit; the 171 skiable acres; the extremely reasonable lift ticket and rental prices; and its proximity to the metro New York area.” Newsday says Belleayre offers something for everyone and they’re right. Congratulations Belleayre.

In just four days, Saturday, November 10, 2007 from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM in the Overlook Lodge, Belleayre Mountain will open its doors for the season. Whether the chairlifts are operating or not, the mood is set for snow and the staff at Belleayre is ready to kick off the season with their annual Tap Into Winter Party. You won’t want to miss the fashion show, free ski/snowboard waxing to the first 50 customers, drink specials, free hors d’oeuvres and much more. They’ve got lots of great things planned, so clear your calendars and tell all your friends.
