FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Contact: Highmount, NY April 7, 2008 - New York State’s DEC Belleayre Mountain will be hosting a grand finale of season events with a Slamming Spring Weekend. The favorable snowsliding will have mountain-goers looking forward to a last week of fun at the "Beast of the East." Belleayre’s grooming staff is generously pushing the mountain’s stockpiles to blanket the trails for the fairest spring conditions in the Catskills. Skiers and riders will be pleased with the week’s trail reports, as the ridge trails still have much to offer. We are ending our season with fantastic conditions so don't miss the great spring skiing and riding followed by an Overlook Deck Party. As a final show of gratitude to Belleayre visitors, the mountain has scheduled Friday, April 11th as this season’s last Customer Appreciation Day and full day lift tickets will be sold for only $15. New York State DEC is eager to thank all its visitors for their enthusiasm and dedication to skiing and riding at Belleayre Mountain in 2007- 2008 and helping us have one of the best seasons ever. Saturday, April 12th will host the Terrain Park Jam Series closing Rail Jam. Flood lights will ignite the Wanatuska Rail Park, beginning at 5pm. Ratboy, from New Paltz, NY will be the featured live music and a DJ will be set- up on hill for jibbers’ music jams. Entrance to the open event requires a $25 lift ticket and a $10 event fee includes an event t-shirt. As usual, winners are guaranteed great prizes. The best of the best will showing off "steeze" on Belleayre’s barrel bonks and C- rail boxes; be sure turn out and be a part of the scene. Superintendent, Tony Lanza will be challenging anyone with a 7-iron on Sunday, April 13th. The Long Drive Contest will be truly "slamming" behind the Overlook Lodge at 1pm. Belleayre will provide golf balls and clubs and the contest is free for challengers. Don't miss our famous season-ending weekend party!
