US Marines Toys for Tots Toy Drive

The US Marines will be here at Belleayre collecting toys for less fortunate families with their Toys for Tots toy drive on Saturday, December 19 and we are doing our part by offering discounted lift tickets to the first 200 people who donate $10 or a toy with a value of $10 or more! Along with Toys for Tots and Pictures with Santa, Belleayre will have a Winter Festival Village located in the Discovery Lodge. Pick up some last minute holiday goods from our eclectic mix of vendors. Stay local. Shop local.

Scout Days

Scouts and their immediate family members will ski for $34.00 per person. Rentals are just $23.00. All you have to do is bring a valid Scout ID to any ticket window. All Scouts are entitled to a free any level group lesson with the purchase of their area use ticket. If you have a group of 15 or more, please make reservations in advance by calling ext. 2474. * All those interested in taking the Scout Merit Badge Program must be blue square skiers/boarders or better. Your troop leader must submit a sheet with First/Last Name, Age, Ability, Ski or Snowboard to our ski school desk that morning. Meeting time and place will be announced then.

The band has been a featured artist on WAMC’s Northeast Public Radio “Live at the Linda” series, and they have shared the stage with Levon Helm at his Midnight Ramble, Martin Sexton, Blues Traveler, Rusted Root, North Mississippi Allstars and have appeared at multi-band rock festival Mountain Jam 5 along with Gov’t Mule and the Allman Brothers Band. They have been a featured artist at the CMJ Music Conference in NYC, and have also performed at the Cape May Singer-Songwriter Music Conference.

Every year Belleayre celebrates Winter Festival Week the last week in January with all sorts of special events. Saturday, January 23rd is Belleayre’s 60th Birthday with a Kids Carnival at Discovery Lodge, Ice carving Demonstrations and a Birthday Rail Jam sponsored by Stoked Mentoring. Saturday night, be dazzled by the beauty of a Torchlight Parade down Yahoo. More information on this event will be posted as it becomes available. Monday the 25th is our annual Taste of the Town so be sure not to miss this event featuring the culinary delights from the region’s best restaurants.The 2010 Wednesday promotion will lead up to our Winter Festival Week midweek special the last week in January culminating with $20 lift tickets and $10 rentals all week from Monday, January 25th through Friday, January 29th.

Join us on Sunday February14th and make a difference for some great animals. Make a $25 donation to the Heart of the Catskills Humane Society and get registered for the Valentine's Day Ball and Chain Couples Race.
The Humane Society will be here that day collecting donations and showing off some of the great pets that are available for adoption. Couples of any combination (husband/wife, mom/kids, dad/kids, friends, etc.) are welcome to join the Couple's Race, a hilarious and fun event to celebrate Valentine's Day. There's lots of "sweet" prizes for winners. Couples race together, joined by a "ball and chain"...it's not as easy as you think!

The Belleayre Cup Race will be held on Saturday, January 16th beginning at 10:30am on Lower Yahoo. This is a fun all-ages race for skiers and snowboarders.Run on our race course on Lower Yahoo. Registration will be held in the Garden Room of the Overlook Lodge costing $5 for 18 & under entrants, and $8 for 19 & over. Helmets are required for all racers. An awards ceremony honoring the top racers will be held at 3pm outside of the Overlook Lodge.
ASIA Bump Festival

Would you like to be able to ski more of the mountain? When your ski buddies happen upon a mogul field do you look for an easier way down? Then this is the program for you.
With our Mogul Intro and Mogul Improvement Clinics we will teach you the basic techniques needed to navigate the “Bumps”, and if you are already skiing the “Bumps”, our clinics will help improve your skills and make you a better mogul skier. Who ever thought taking ski lessons could be this much fun…..
The Bump Festival will provide 2 days of unmatched skiing and learning taught by our hand picked PSIA and CSIA coaches. Ray Owens says, “I learn something new every year!”
It's a Skiing Best Buy, at only $210.00! Judging by the attendance, which is growing every year, it looks like this has become another favorite event for ASIA members.
The Clinics
Mogul Introduction is for those who want to improve their skills on blue and black diamond groomed terrain, and learn the tactics for skiing in beginner and intermediate moguls.
Mogul Improvement is for folks who are comfortable on most terrain on the mountain, and have experience skiing intermediate moguls.

We'll have 2 breakfasts on Saturday and Sunday, our Saturday night buffet, which includes music and dancing, along with lift tickets and two days of instruction, taxes and gratuities. Adaptive Awareness Day

Helen Hayes Hospital will be here educating the public about their Adaptive Sports Program. They will be teaching that individuals with spinal cord injuries, traumatic brain injuries, cerebral palsy, multiple sclerosis and other disabling conditions have the possibility of participating in a large variety of recreational activities. In addition they will be raising money to help provide equipment for the Belleayre Adaptive Snowsports program that is necessary for these inspiring people who refuse to give up and continue to live their dreams. Before purchasing your lift ticket go to the Helen Hayes table set up inside at both lodges. Donate $10 and receive a coupon for a $25 lift ticket. Have you ever wanted to sled down Belleayre Mountain? Here's your chance! Everyone is welcome to make their own sled out of cardboard and duct tape, then race down the slope behind the Longhouse Lodge. Make your sled at home and bring it with you, or come to the Longhouse Lodge between 9 am - noon to use materials Belleayre provides. Use your imagination to build the most stable and aerodynamic sled you can! Cost is free to enter. Race begins at 1 pm. Helmets are required.

Part of the Beach Party fun, the Dummy Race gives you a chance to flex your creative muscles! Build a "dummy" on skis or a snowboard and let 'er rip down the mountain...how fun is that? Your dummy can be just about anything...a person skiing, the Beast of Belleayre, a giant fish tank - you name it. Just make sure it sits on skis or a snowboard, then shove it off the starting line and watch it go! The winner is crowned based on creativity of the dummy, longest run, and most spectacular crash. Fair warning - take pictures before you launch, since the huge jump at the end of the course ensures your dummy won't be too recognizable at the end. Entry is free. Race starts at 1 pm behind the Longhouse Lodge

The Belleayre Mountain Hall of Fame was created in 2006 to honor individuals who have contributed in extraordinary ways to Belleayre
Mountain, the surrounding Catskill region, and to the athletic discipline of
Snowsports. Join us this year as we honor Lou Groscholl, Meg Monell, and John Fishkind for their extraordinary efforts to promote Belleayre and the sport of skiing in general. Hall of Fame members are dedicated entrepreneurs, New York State DEC employees, and most importantly, skiing and snowboarding enthusiasts with vision and leadership that the Belleayre community can aspire towards and respect.
Tickets are $75 and can be purchased in the Administration Office in the Overlook Lodge with Pat McVitty (845)254-5600 x1313.
Superintendent's Long Drive Classic

On the final day of the ski season, get your golf swing back to par at the Superintendent's Long Drive Contest. Entry is free to hit that little ball as far as you can down the slopes! Don't worry, Belleayre provides the clubs and balls. Starts at 1 pm.
