If you purchased your season pass before April 29, give us a call by August 12 and we will be happy to extend the discount to you.  To receive the discount, the season pass and the season long program must be registered to the same person.

SEASON LONG PROGRAMS


MOUNTAIN EXPLORERS (Formerally Known as Alpine Development) – Ski or Snowboard

This program is a goal-oriented season long program for children 5 years and older. We create a fun and safe learning environment for your child to grow and expand his or her skiing and snowboarding skills. For 10 weekends starting the beginning of January, your child will receive coaching from our top-level Instructors. They will be introduced to, or continue to expand on every aspect of their skiing or ridding. This includes things such as moguls, Terrain Park and the glades. Your child will learn to ski or ride the mountain with more confidence while building on their basic fundamental skills. Advanced registration is required. Limited space is available for all the different groups listed below. Registration ends on December 27, 2016 and a waiting list will be taken by calling sales at 845.254.6245 after the December 28th deadline.

Tehya: Age 5 & 6, Ski Only For skiers who can comfortable ski green terrain (such as Iroquois) at a minimum. Skiers must be able to perform wedge turns in control and be able to stop on demand on all green terrain. Smaller groups of a maximum of 5 will be formed based on similar skills. These skiers must be familiar with riding a chair and be well behaved while on the lift. There are times that a Tehya may need to ride the chair with an adult from the general public. 

Tala: Age 7 to 17, for skiers or snowboarders who can comfortably handle blue terrain at a minimum.   The skier or rider must be proficient at wedge turns that are starting to become parallel and be able to stop on demand on all blue terrain. Children must be must be able to independently ride a chair lift, including getting on and off the chair without assistance.  Groups are first formed based on age and then on skill level and there may be times were groups will have multiple different ages.

Times: Every Saturday and Sunday from 9:30am to 11:30am and 12:30pm to 2:30pm with a one hour unsupervised lunch.  Parents are required to pick up and drop off their child unless other arrangements have been made.
Start Date: January 7, 2017 for 10 weeks
Where:  Alpine Development meets behind the Longhouse Lodge and pick up is at the Flag Pole in front of the Overlook Lodge.

FREESTYLE PROGRAM - Ski or Snowboard

For young athletes who already ski/ride the entire mountain with confidence -- this program develops the skills to handle the terrain parks and moguls.  Our experienced coaches will assemble groups based on discipline, age and skill level. Growth towards competition (USSA – moguls, slopestyle; USASA – slopestyle, boardercross, skiercross) is the ultimate goal -- coaches will determine which students will lead our Freestyle Team into competitions.  Coaches may refer children they feel are not ready for this program to Alpine Development (only if there are spaces available).  The Freestyle Program runs for 10 weeks on Saturdays and Sundays with four hours of coaching each day.  Additional early season and late season USASA training will also be available.  Registration ends on December 27, 2016 and a waiting list will be taken by calling sales at 845.254.6245 after the December 28th deadline.

COACHES-IN-TRAINING - Ski or Snowboard

For Skiers or riders looking toward a future lifestyle in the Snowsports Industry.  Coaches-in-training must be comfortable skiing or riding black terrain.  You will learn the skills and knowledge to become a successful coach here at Belleayre.  Learn to teach all ages and stages of skiing or ridding while improving on your own skiing and ridding skills. Learn technical components of teaching, what to teach, how to teach, while promoting a safe learning environment. Becoming a professional coach looks great on any job resume or college application!  Registration ends on December 27, 2016 and a waiting list will be taken by calling sales at 845.254.6245 after the December 28th deadline.

RACE PROGRAM - Ski Only

A great opportunity for newcomers, seasoned racers and high school racers to develop and improve skills for successful competition or just for the fun of racing. This is not a program for novice skiers. Our dedicated and enthusiastic staff consists of trainers with strong racing backgrounds as well as USSA coaching and PSIA certifications. We focus on building strong skiing skills that will serve the skier well in all conditions while emphasizing the proper skills, technique and tactics applicable to ski racing. Strong intermediate skills and the ability to ride the chair lift independently are required. Racers have the opportunity to race in sanctioned USSA or Mini World Cup races depending on age and ability. The program runs for a total of 14 weeks on Saturdays and Sundays for racers ages 8 to 11 and 16 weeks for races ages 12 to 17.  The program does include Holiday Race Camp.  Registration ends on November 25, 2016 and a waiting list will be taken by calling sales at 845.254.6245 after the November 25th deadline.  There is a two week trial period for new participants (Dec 10 and 11 & Dec 17 & 18). Proper placement for the individual will be made at this time based on coaches’ evaluation and recommendation.  

Note:  By enrolling in the season long race program, families commit to joining the Belleayre Mountain Racing Association. Information on the club membership fees (to be paid separately) and volunteer requirements will be outlined in the parent meeting on December 4th

HOLIDAY CAMPS 


HOLIDAY MOUNTAIN EXPLORERS CAMP (4 Days) - Ski Only 

An on-snow tune-up! With four hours of instruction each day, this program focuses on better skiing/riding everywhere on the mountain -- for individuals not interested in, or perhaps not ready for competition (whether race or freestyle). Participants must have strong intermediate skills and the ability to ride the chair lift independently. Coaches will assemble groups based on age and skill level.; Advance registration is required.

Ages: 7 to 17
Dates: December 27 through December 30.  Advanced Registration is required.

HOLIDAY FREESTYLE CAMP (4 Days) - Ski or Snowboard

Get a jump on the season with four days of training! For young athletes who already ski/ride the entire mountain with confidence -- this program develops the skills to handle the terrain parks and moguls. The program includes four hours of instruction each day. Our experienced coaches will assemble groups based on discipline, age and skill level. Coaches may refer children they feel are not ready for this program to Alpine Development.

HOLIDAY RACE CAMP (5 .5 Days) - Ski Only

A great way to kick off the season! Junior Racers and High School Racers, ages 8 - 18, will benefit from our holiday race camp.  Emphasis will focus on Fundamental Skill Development, Technique and Tactics with an appropriate training of Slalom and Giant Slalom training are planned.  Racers will be placed in appropriate age groups. Strong intermediate skills and the ability to ride the chair lift independently are required. This camp will be staffed by our experienced USSA/PSIA coaches as well as returning alumni.
