Belleayre Beach Aqua School

Belleayre Mountain is excited to offer its 6th year of Aqua School’s summer programming, with more session options!  The Aqua School is an authorized Red Cross provider, providing the Learn-to-Swim Program for children ages 4 and above. Be sure to register quickly for all Aqua School activities, as they are offered on a first-come-first-serve basis. For more information please call us at 845-254-5600 xt 2444 .

Preschool Aquatics

Gives young children about ages 4 and 5 a positive, developmentally appropriate aquatic learning experience that emphasizes water safety and survival concepts. Skills are age-appropriate, helping participants achieve success on a regular basis while in a class environment with their peers.

Cost: $80.00 per Student

Level I, Introduction to Water Skills

Every swimmer has to start somewhere! Enroll your 5 year old + in a positive aquatic environment and lay the foundation towards their swimming success. Level I students will practice new skills such as, entering the water safely, floating on back and front with support, alternating and simultaneous leg and arm movements, full submersion, supported swimming, and valuable, general water safety lessons. An American Red Cross Certificate will be awarded at the successful completion of all skills.

Cost: $80.00 per Student

Level II, Fundamental Aquatic Skills

This course teaches students the basic fundamentals for swimming without support and early stroke and kick movements. Level II also expands on self-help and basic rescue skills taught in Level I. Some topics covered include: unsupported floats, glides, finning and sculling, etc. An American Red Cross Level II will be awarded at the successful completion of all skills.

Cost: $80.00 per Student

*Students entering this course must have an ARC Level I certificate or must be able to demonstrate all the completion requirements in Level 1.

Level III, Stroke Development

Guided instruction synchronizes arm and leg movements to develop the beginnings of front and back crawl strokes. Butterfly and treading water is introduced, while students begin to conquer entering the water head-first. Further water- safety skills are also taught.  An American Red Cross Level III certificate is awarded at the successful completion of all skills.

Cost: $80.00 per Student

*Students entering this course must have a ARC Level II certificate or must be able to demonstrate all the completion requirements in Level II.

Level IV, Stroke Improvement

Now gain the confidence to develop the swimming skills you have learned so far. This course focuses on the efficiency of a student’s breaststroke, freestyle, butterfly, backstroke, diving, and underwater swimming skills. Sculling skills and endurance is practiced and refined, resulting in a swimmer ready for competing and other aquatic endeavors. An American Red Cross Card will be awarded at the successful completion of all skills.

Cost: $80.00 per Student

*Students entering this course must have a Level III certificate or must be able to demonstrate all the completion requirements in Level III.
