Holiday Race Camp December 26 - 29, 2007

A great way to kick off the season of racing! Intermediate and advanced skiers will benefit from this four-day race camp, taught by Jim Cardenali. Coaching in slalom and giant slalom techniques as well as overall skiing performance will give you the boost you need.

Registration starts on Dec. 26 at 8 am in the Longhouse Lodge. Hours for the remainder of the camp is 9 am - noon and 1 pm - 3 pm. Advance registration is required by calling 845-254-5600 ext. 304. Cost is $250 (includes four days of lift tickets); $215 (without lift tickets) and get Sunday December 30, 2007 as an extra day of the Holiday Training Camp package for those enrolled in the season-long Alpine, Freestyle or Race programs.

USASA Catskill Mtn. Series - GS Races TBD

The United States of America Snowboard Assoc. (USASA) is a sanctioning body for snowboard events. The Catskill Mtn. Series includes Belleayre Mountain and other area resorts. To participate in these events, you must be a member of USASA. For more information, check out www.usasa.org. Pine Hill Arms Race Series January 9, 2008
A 10-week long race series sponsored by the Pine Hill Arms Hotel & Restaurant (845-254-9811). Race type is NASTAR/Giant Slalom. Registration is pre-paid entry. Entry fee is per person and includes race series and awards dinner. Lift ticket not included, but required. Categories are male and female, minimum age limit is 21 years. Trophies go to the top 3 finishers, male and female. January 4th will begin the series. Racers can be either skiers or snowboarders. Midweek Season pass is $231.00 thru 11/30/07 and $256.00 from 12/1/07 on.

Cardenali Race Camps TBD
Two day race alpine race camps, taught by coach Jim Cardenali. Alpine race training for beginning racers, intermediates, experts, women, and seniors. Price for camp is $TBA per day. Price includes hill access (lift ticket, race course) and daily program. Check out www.cardenaliskicamps.com for more information.

Coalition Cup Race January 19, 2008
This is a NASTAR Giant Slalom race sponsored by the Coalition for Belleayre. Registration is from 8:00 to 10:00 am at the Overlook Lodge on race day, and race start time is 10:30 am. Enter the race for $10.00 per person and receive $10 off your full price lift ticket! (Not valid with any other discounts). Categories include male & female, 6 and under , 7-8, 9-10, 11-12, 13-14, 15-16, 17-21, 22-41, 42-54. Skiing trophies to be awarded to the top 1st, 2nd, and 3rd, male and female in each category. 55+ will receive a trophy for 1st place. Snowboarders will get trophies for 1st and 2nd place in categories 6 & under, 7-10, 11-14, 15-18 and 19 & over.

Alzheimer's Race to Remember January 13, 2008
This is a NASTAR Giant Slalom race sponsored by the Alzheimer's Association of the Hudson Valley and Clear Channel Radio. Cost is $25 per person, which includes the race fee and lift ticket. Advance reservation is required by calling the Alzheimer's Association at 1-800-872-0994. If you do not pre-register, the cost to race is still $20 at the registration table and does not include a lift ticket. Registration will be held in the Overlook Lodge between 8 - 10 am; race starts at 10:30 and medals will be awarded to the first, second and third place finishers in ten categories (best of two runs).

Commissioner's Cup Race For Kids February 2, 2008
A fun race for kids ages 17 and under and it's FREE! Lift ticket required. Race type is NASTAR. Registration from 8:00 - 10:00 am, and race start time is 11:00 am. Categories include 6 and under, 7 - 8, 9 - 10, 11 - 12, 13 - 14, 15 -17. Limit of first 120 kids to register. Trophies to be awarded at 3 pm outside the Overlook Lodge.

Race for Caner Cure
Saturday January 26, 2008
Belleayre Mountain and the Margaretville Telephone Company's Relay for Life Team are joining forces to bring a fun event benefiting the American Cancer Society. All the proceeds go to the MTC Relay for Life Team. All levels and abilities are welcome, skiers and snowboarders alike. Pre-registration is required and limited to the first 200 applicants. Couple's Race
February 9, 2008
Couples of any combination (husband/wife, mom/kids, dad/kids, friends, etc.) are welcome to join the Couple's Race, a hilarious and fun event to celebrate Valentine's Day. The cost is FREE, and there's lots of "sweet" prizes for winners. Couples race together, joined by a "ball and chain"...it's not as easy as you think!

Belleayre Cup Race
February 16, 2008
A NASTAR race for all ages. Enter the race and receive $5 off your full price youth or junior lift ticket and $8 off your full price adult lift ticket! (Not valid with any other discounts). Registration is from 8:30am -10:00am at the Overlook Lodge next to the guest services counter. Race begins at 11:00 am on Yahoo. Entry fee is $5.00 for children (18 and under) and $8.00 for adults, lift ticket not included but required. Categories include ages 6 and under, 7-9, 10-12, 13-18, 19-34, 35-49, 50-64,and 65+. Awards ceremony at 3pm.

ASRA Races February 16-17, 2008
The Amateur Ski Racing Alliance (ASRA) hosts a series of races open to all recreational skiers, regardless of ability. Belleayre Mountain welcomes ASRA, and hopes you'll join them. Whether you compete as an individual or on a ski club team, the ASRA SERIES has what you're looking for. Good courses, great people, and lots of fun! Events are held in three regions, giving skiers the opportunity to race, and to meet new people. Experts climb to new levels, and beginning racers mingle with the "top dawgs". Everyone learns new techniques and picks up equipment and tuning tips. Ability levels of participants range from intermediate to super elite; ages from 3 to 80+. Denis Germain Memorial Race Feb. 23, 2008
In memory of fallen FDNY Firefighter Denis Germain, this memorial race is a fundraiser for the Denis Germain Foundation, giving scholarships to young, deserving ski racers. For just $25, receive a lift ticket for the day, race entry fee and event t-shirt. Pre-registration is required by calling 845-254-5600, ext. 428. Day-of entries will pay $15 for the race entry fee and t-shirt (lift ticket is not included). T-shirts alone will be $10. Registration is from 8 - 10 am in the Garden Room of the Overlook Lodge.

Mogul Mash Resheduled for March 9, 2008
A special mogul competition open to the first 100 to register. Contestants will be judged on the ability to ski bumps with rhythm, ability to stay in the fall line with the fewest deviations and overall technical ability. Entry fee is $10.00 per person, and lift tickets are not included but required. Medals will be awarded as follows: score of 28-40 = gold, 16-27 - silver and 4-15 = bronze. Entry fee includes cake and event t-shirt. Entry forms are available at Belleayre Mountain or by mail. Don't miss this event!


WKNY Race March 2, 2008
Radio station WKNY of Kingston, along with Belleayre Mountain, and Boston Culinary Group are sponsoring the Annual Challenge Race to benefit the Community Rehabilitation Center of Kingston. Medals or trophies will be given in 10 categories. This race is a pre-registered race. For applications call WKNY at 845-331-1490. Lift tickets are included for pre-registered applicants at a cost of $14.90. Anyone who is not pre-registered will be required to purchase a regular lift ticket and a $14.90 registration fee the day of the race. Race check in will be from 8:30am -10:00am at the Overlook Lodge.The race will begin at 10:30am.

Pine Hill Arms Triathlon March 22, 2008
A challenging 15.5 mile triathlon of ski-bike-run! The triathlon includes a 2.5 mile ski, 10 mile bike and a 3 mile run, and there are individual and team categories. The fee is $50 per racer if you pre-register and $55 per racer if you register on race day. All racers must pick up their bibs and be registered by 11:30 am. Pre-Race meeting and Group Photo is at 12:15. Registration takes place at the Longhouse Lodge at Belleayre Mountain, and the race promptly starts at 1:30pm from the top of the Tomahawk lift. Included in registration fee: Gourmet Bayou Buffet Dinner, Triathlon T-Shirt, and an after race party with live music and dancing.

Turn N' Burn Mogul Challenge March 22, 2008
Think you're the best bump skier or rider at Belleayre? This new mogul event will not be for the faint of heart. Expert skiers and riders will showcase their skills in the mogul fields of upper Yahoo. Cost is free! Registration is from 8-10 am in the Great Room of the Overlook Lodge. Expert skiers and riders of all ages are welcome to join in the challenge. Categories are open: men & women, skiers & snowboarders.

Coaches' Slalom and BBQ TBD
The final "hurrah" for the Belleayre Mountain Race Team and Coaches! Race start at 10:30 am, trail TBD. A picnic BBQ will follow.
