BEGINNER/NOVICE LESSONS FOR AGES 13 AND UP

Are you new to the sport or looking to become a skier or snowboarder?  Belleayre has you covered!

Belleayre has everything you need to get started, including some great packages deals.  We know how intimidating it can be to learn something new, so we designed this portion of our site to answer all of your many questions before you come to our mountain.  Make sure to check out our Beginners Guide to help prepare you for your first day out on the slopes.

BEGINNER  LESSON PACKAGE – SKI OR SNOWBOARD
Includes Beginner Lower Mountain Lift Ticket, Group Lesson, & Rental Package

This all-inclusive program is perfect for the first-time skier or rider ages 13 & up! The package includes a beginner lower mountain lift ticket, a 2 hour class lesson (1.5 hours with classes with less than 2 students), and a rental package.  The beginner package includes a lift ticket to the lower mountain lifts – Learning Area Carpets and Lightning Quad.

BEGINNER/NOVICE LESSON TYPES:
Lessons will be broken down into three beginner categories.

Level 1 – First Time Skiers or Snowboarders
Level 2 – Tried it once or twice before and need a little more help
Level 3/Novice – Can ski or snowboard on green terrain plus, turn and stop, and able to get on and off the chair lift (up to green terrain only)

INTERMEDIATE AND EXPERT LESSONS

Intermediate and Expert group lessons are not offered as group lessons.  If you are looking for more than a beginner lesson, we offer Private Lessons.

Important Information

Before booking your lesson, please take a second to review the information below.

• Reservations and Forms:
  To ensure a smooth experience, advanced reservations are required. Please complete all necessary forms—such as liability waivers and rental agreements—prior to the start of your lesson.
• Advance Purchases Required:
  Tickets, lessons, and rentals must be purchased in advance. Day-of purchases at the mountain are not guaranteed, and availability may be limited, which could impact your ability to ski or snowboard.
• Check-In at the Rental Ticketing Location:
  Check-in and rental pick-up is located on the first floor of Discovery Lodge at the Rental Ticketing Counter. Once you’ve completed check-in and picked up your rental equipment, make your way behind the Discovery Lodge to meet your instructor.
• Lesson Meeting Location:
  All adult group lessons will meet just outside the rental shop, at the exit nearest the slopes.
• We are Offering Adult Group Lessons for our First Time Through Novice Guests (Ski & Snowboard):
  Beginner/Novice group lessons will be the only group lessons available this season. We also offer Private Lessons for more advanced skiers & riders.  Please note that group lessons will not be offered on December 24 & 25, 2024.
• Arrive Early:
  We recommend arriving at least an hour before your lesson to allow time for travel, check-in, and picking up rental gear.
• Lesson Start Times:
  Lessons begin promptly at 9:30am and 12:30pm, so plan to be on time. Unfortunately, late arrivals may not be accommodated to ensure the best experience for everyone.

Pricing

Advance purchase of tickets, lessons, and rentals are required – Day of purchases at the mountain are not guaranteed, and you may not be able to purchase a lesson or lift ticket.

Beginner packages include lower mountain tickets with access to the Lightning Lift and the surface lifts in the beginner learning areas.

Note:  Group Lessons will not be offered on December 24 & 25, 2025.  Private lessons will be available on those two days.

Cancellation Policy

For Day Lessons/Programs:

• All purchases are final.
• Participant must be within the specified Lesson/Program age range (as listed on website) at the start of the Lesson/Program.
• Reservations cancellations made more than 72 hours before the scheduled start date incur a cancellation fee: $15 for adult/youth group lessons and $45 for private lessons. The remaining balance will be refunded to the original form of payment.
• Reservations cancelled within 72 hours of the start date are non-refundable. Instead, you will receive a credit for the full value of your reservation minus a cancellation fee ($15 for adult/youth group lessons and $45 for private lessons) towards the same Lesson/Program on another day. Credit requests must be submitted by the close of business on the day before the scheduled lesson. Credits are valid for one year from the issue date.
• Cancellation fees will apply per person/ per reservation/ per activity.
• No refunds or credits will be issued for cancellations made on the day of the scheduled lesson.
• A refund or credit will NOT be issued if a participant arrives late for their lesson start time.

All Lesson/Program participants must electronically sign the Single Day and Multi-Week Lesson/Program Agreement. If purchasing online, you’ll be presented with the Single Day and Multi-Week Lesson/Program Agreement prior to checkout. If purchasing over the phone, you should receive an email with a link to electronically sign this document.

You will receive the program check-in time and location in your confirmation email. Programs are in session every day the Snow Sports School is open, regardless of weather conditions. During inclement weather, we will take indoor breaks as necessary.
