Overview

Are your Kids ready to hit the slopes?  Belleayre offers group lessons for kids ages 4-12 and snowboard lessons for ages 7-12.  These sessions will offer your child the basics to learn how to ski or ride while having fun at the same time.  Kids lessons are only offered Saturday, Sundays, and during our holiday periods.  For any children who are ready for expert (black diamond) terrain, or if you are visiting Monday through Friday, please check out our Private Lesson offerings.

Kids Ages 4-6 Ski Beginner Group Lessons

Lessons are offered to First Time, Second Time, and Novice (Green Circle) Skiers.  The package includes a 2-hour lesson and lower mountain lift ticket with access to the Lightning Lift and the surface lifts in the learning areas.  Rentals are available for an additional cost.

Kids Ages 7-12 Ski Beginner & Intermediate Group Lessons

Lessons are offered to:

  • First Time, Second Time, and Novice (Green Circle) skiers.  Packages includes a 2-hour or 4-hour and lower mountain lift ticket with access to the Lightning Lift and the surface lifts in the learning areas.
  • Intermediate (Blue Square) skiers.  Packages include a 4-hour lesson and an all area use ticket.
  • Rentals are available for an additional cost.
Kids Ages 7-12 Snowboard Beginner Group Lessons

Lessons are offered to First Time, Second Time, and Novice (Green Circle) Snowboarders.  Packages include a 2-hour or 4-hour lesson and lower mountain lift ticket with access to the Lightning Lift and the surface lifts in the learning areas.  Rentals are available for an additional cost.


Check-In:

All Kidscamp participants will check-in inside at the Snowsports Desk located on the lower level of the Discovery Lodge, not outside by the exit.

  • Tickets will be distributed at the time of check-in.
  • If you do not need rentals, please arrive at least 30 minutes prior to your lesson start time.
  • If you need rentals, your child will be set up with equipment in the Kidscamp rental area and will then be escorted out to the lesson meeting area.  Please allow additional time for equipment sizing, plan on arriving 45 minutes prior to the lesson start time.
  • Kidscamp lessons will promptly go out on time.  Late arrivals may not be accommodated or guaranteed a lesson.
  • One adult will be allowed to accompany the child from the check-in desk to the lesson meeting place.
  • Come dressed and ready for your lesson.
  • Children can be picked up by a registered parent/guardian, with an appropriate pickup tag, outside at the lesson meeting place.
  • Store belongings in lockers located in the lobby of the Kidscamp area.

Additional Information:
  • If your child is bringing their own equipment, please make sure that it is properly tuned.
  • Allow adequate driving time.
  • Bring appropriate winter attire and label all belongings.
  • Children participating in all Belleayre’s Snowsports Kids Lessons are required to wear helmets. For more information on helmet safety visit Lids on Kids.
  • Your child will have a better experience if they are well-rested and have a good breakfast.

Thank you for entrusting the Belleayre Snowsports staff with your children as they learn to ski and snowboard here at Belleayre. We are dedicated to ensuring your child has a fun, safe, and memorable experience on the mountain. To help make the day run smoothly, please consider the following important details:

  • Advanced Reservations and Forms:
    Advanced reservations are required. Please complete all necessary forms—such as liability waivers, rental agreements, and any other required documentation—prior to the start of your child’s lesson.
  • Check-In Location and Time:
    Check-in is located at the Snowsports Counter on the lower level of the Discovery Lodge. Please arrive early to allow plenty of time for check-in, registration, and gear pick-up.  If you have your child’s gear, bring that inside to the check-in counter.
  • Helmet Requirement:
    For safety, all children participating in our Snowsports programs must wear a helmet.
  • Plan Ahead:
    Please plan ahead to allow enough time for check-in, registration, and gear pick-up. Lessons start promptly, and late arrivals may not be accommodated.
  • Parent/Guardian Presence:
    A parent or guardian must remain on Belleayre Mountain premises while your child participates in our programs.
  • Special Needs:
    If your child has any special needs, please inform us in advance so we can provide the best possible experience for them.
  • Medication Policy:
    Belleayre staff will not administer medications. If your child requires medication during the day, please plan to be available to administer it.
  • Riding the Chair Lift:
    Children in our programs may ride lifts with members of the skiing public or Belleayre staff.
  • Class Placement:
    Your child’s ability level will be assessed at registration. If needed, Belleayre staff reserves the right to reassign your child to a different class level to ensure their safety and learning.
  • Encouraging Participation:
    We strive to make skiing and snowboarding enjoyable for every child. While we encourage participation, we will not force any child onto the snow if they are not ready. Our staff will do everything possible to help them feel comfortable and confident.
  • Weather and Conditions:
    Please note that class levels or lesson plans may change due to weather or mountain conditions.

**Advance purchase of tickets, lessons, and rentals are required – Day of purchases at the mountain are not guaranteed, and you may not be able to purchase a lesson or lift ticket.

Please note: We do not offer midweek kids group lessons or expert kids group lessons. Private lessons are offered if you need a midweek or expert kids lesson.

Cancellation Policy

For Day Lessons/Programs:

  • All purchases are final.
  • Participant must be within the specified Lesson/Program age range (as listed on website) at the start of the Lesson/Program.
  • Reservations cancellations made more than 72 hours before the scheduled start date incur a cancellation fee: $15 for adult/youth group lessons and $45 for private lessons. The remaining balance will be refunded to the original form of payment.
  • Reservations cancelled within 72 hours of the start date are non-refundable. Instead, you will receive a credit for the full value of your reservation minus a cancellation fee ($15 for adult/youth group lessons and $45 for private lessons) towards the same Lesson/Program on another day. Credit requests must be submitted by the close of business on the day before the scheduled lesson. Credits are valid for one year from the issue date.
  • Cancellation fees will apply per person/ per reservation/ per activity.
  • No refunds or credits will be issued for cancellations made on the day of the scheduled lesson.
  • A refund or credit will NOT be issued if a participant arrives late for their lesson start time.

All Lesson/Program participants must electronically sign the Single Day and Multi-Week Lesson/Program Agreement. If purchasing online, you’ll be presented with the Single Day and Multi-Week Lesson/Program Agreement prior to checkout. If purchasing over the phone, you should receive an email with a link to electronically sign this document.

You will receive the program check-in time and location in your confirmation email. Programs are in session every day the Snow Sports School is open, regardless of weather conditions. During inclement weather, we will take indoor breaks as necessary.
