Your Sept 4-7 Weekend Activities Report

Hasta la vista, rain! Just like your kids tearing out of the first week of classes, the clouds parted to soak our mountain in sunshine for the weekend. With high temperatures not exceeding 75 degrees, it’s safe to say that it’s more than just the calendar saying summer break has ended! But new things can be learned and discovered in more places than the classroom, and we are entering the final weekend with every bit of our summer operations still welcoming you and the greenery!

Although our Music on the Belle series has wrapped up for the summer, our Scenic Gondola Rides are having one last spin at a three-day weekend, bumping you up over 1,400 vertical feet to the top of the highest skiable peak in the Catskills! The Catskill Thunder Gondola will be running Friday through Sunday, before taking Monday September 7 off and moving to a Saturday-Sunday only schedule. If you’ve held off on taking a dip at the Belleayre Beach, consider this your final chance to do so before we say so long to it until next June! The very first hints of Autumn coming are beginning to speckle the green canopy, best appreciated on a foot-powered hike, or round of Disc Golf. Regardless of how you prefer to send off summer, it’s not the end – it’s the start of one of the best seasons to be outside!

Over the coming weeks, we are officially on foliage watch, as these green mountainsides take on fiery hues of orange, yellows and reds, mother nature’s way of dressing us up all nice and pretty for our annual Fall Festival presented by Subaru the first two weekends of October!
