Your Sept 14-18 Midweek Activities Report

It’s impossible to describe it, but you can sense it. That feeling. You leave your house in the early morning, and there’s ever the slightest tinge. A bit of a nip, barely discernable on the tip of your nose. You start your morning commute, and realize you turned the A/C off in the car. It’s all about those little things, but it builds up the excitement! They are merely the first steps before we return to our favorite season, but there’s plenty of other journeys to take in the meantime.

The very first leaves are changing, and the deep lush emerald hues in our tree canopy is not as vibrant as about a month ago! The best way to observe the changes is via a Scenic Gondola Ride whisking you to the top of the mountain, currently spinning Saturdays and Sundays until October 11. If you’re seeking midweek solitude, all of our hiking trails remain open daily and will reward you with views in the payment of burned calories instead of dollars!

Right when the crescendo of color hits its peak, our annual pre-season celebration kicks off! Join us the first two weekends of October for our Fall Festival presented by Subaru at the Discovery Lodge, where the epicenter of upstate Autumn resides. Scenic Gondola Rides reveals painted landscapes below, live music rings into the atmosphere, and taste buds are satisfied with a smorgasbord of food options and trucks, with dozens of beers and ciders to wash it all down. Of course the little ones aren’t left out, as their imagination will run wild with all sorts of activities including pumpkin painting, balloon twisting, and more!
