A Temporary Slumber - Summer Operations Begin June 26!

The seasonal transition is just about complete. The last patch of white melted and faded away into the valley below, and slowly but surely a tide of green swept in from the Hudson Valley and washed over the mountain top. The gusting winds lost their sharp edge, bringing a rather pleasant warmth to them while we prep Belleayre for what’s ahead. Already the waiting is about over, and we are now roughly three weeks away from opening for our summer operations on Friday, June 26!

Things may have appeared quiet on the outside, but the team has been busier than bees getting the place ready to welcome you for a whole season of warm-weather activities and adventures. Even though you’ll be leaving the skis at home, the Catskill Thunder Gondola will be spinning Fridays through Sundays for Scenic Gondola Rides, giving views with a little bit more greenery from 3,429 feet. If you’d rather get to the top of the highest ski area in the Catskills by foot, a myriad of hiking routes can be stringed together between the wooded singletrack cross country trails on the lower mountain, and wide-open alpine trails on the upper.

As days heat up and become longer, having a spot to cool down isn’t just appealing – it’s essential! The Belleayre Beach also opens on June 26 with all your water themed activities – swimming, kayaking, fishing, and more. It will also be home of our weekly Arts & Crafts at the Beach series, where kids of all ages can flex their creative muscles on everything from bracelet making to birdhouse decorating, suncatchers, and more!

Back up on the hill, the events calendar is taking shape. Back by popular demand, the fan-favorite FREE Music on the Belle will be movin’ and shakin’ the Discovery Lodge once again for its fourth iteration! Every Friday night July 24th through August 28th, a fresh new flavor of live music will vibrate out into the cool and comfy evening Catskill Mountain air. A hearty portion of both newcomers and returning bands are on the lineup, sure to get your feet dancing and moving with food trucks and beverage options on hand to keep you fresh. Scenic Gondola Rides will be on a modified schedule those days, so you can take in a stunning Catskills sunset from an elevated view.

Though we’re ditching the ski boots and goggles, we’re pumped to be grabbing our sunglasses and t-shirts as things heat up both literally and figuratively on the mountain. We’ll be seeing you soon!
