The first week of school is over – put the backpacks down and get outside! The unofficial start to fall has arrived, and the very first signs have made their presence known – against a totally green canopy, some rogue leaves have ditched their emerald outfits for a striking hue of red and orange. From here on out, every weekend brings about a different view, and Scenic Gondola Rides are your best bet to take in the changing landscape at over 3,400 feet above sea level.

While the Catskill Thunder Gondola spins Saturday and Sunday, a visit to Belleayre can be made any day of the week! The only difference is if you wish for a view, the payment will be in calories instead of dollars. Miles of hiking trails remain open for exploration, and our Disc Golf course will remain out on the hill until October 11th for those looking to get a cool-weather round in!

The slow metamorphosis has begun – a couple specs of warm color against a cool green backdrop is beginning to spread like a slow smoldering fire. Within a month’s time, the entire region will be lit up in golden and rustic hues, with the air carrying around a tinge of crispness only October can bring. We invite you to join us in celebrating the changing seasons at our annual Fall Festival presented by Subaru on October 3, 4, 10, & 11! Peak foliage can be observed from the top of the highest skiable peak in the Catskills, with a massive celebration commencing at the Discovery Lodge. From free live music, Brews & Views, an assortment of food options, kids’ activities and so much more, it is the grandest of gatherings to send off the summer season!
