Special Events and Sponsorship Coordinator
General
Belleayre is seeking a highly energetic and engaging planner to join our fun and busy environment as a Special Events & Sponsorship Coordinator. Reporting to the Belleayre Marketing Manager, this role is responsible for generating, planning, directing, and coordinating special events, activities, festivals, weddings, and meetings. Additionally, this individual will identify, solicit, cultivate, and execute sponsorships and advertising opportunities for Belleayre. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented individual with excellent organizational and communication skills. They will also develop innovative ideas and have the ability to multitask effectively in a dynamic environment.
Duties and Responsibilities
Event Planning & Execution:
- Oversee and coordinate all aspects of planning and executing events, including space arrangements, budgeting, contracting, logistics, and service coordination.
- Identify requirements and expectations for each event and ensure they are met.
- Coordinate and direct the setup, breakdown, and decoration for all events.
- Coordinate staff, volunteers, and third parties to ensure smooth execution.
- Work closely with on-mountain departments to meet all event logistical needs, such as catering, equipment, technology, electrical, etc.
- Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction by creating welcoming, engaging, and well-executed event experiences for all guests.
Vendor & Stakeholder Management:
- Liaise with vendors, exhibitors, sponsors, and other stakeholders.
- Research and select vendors based on creativity, quality, cost-effectiveness, and delivery of the Olympic Authority’s mission.
- Actively pursue opportunities to host third party events at the mountain and ensure they align with Belleayre’s objectives.
Sponsorship, Sales, & Advertising Development:
- Work independently and in conjunction with the ORDA Sponsorship Team to identify potential sponsorship/advertising opportunities and cultivate relationships with sponsors and businesses to secure partnerships.
- Create tailored packages and proposals, and negotiate agreements to maximize revenue.
- Generate leads, conduct outreach, and engage potential customers through calls, emails, and in-person meetings to present tailored solutions to drive sales.
- Manage all aspects of sponsorship/advertising activation and deliverables to ensure partner satisfaction.
Marketing & Promotion:
- Help develop marketing materials to promote events and attract attendees.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to increase event and sponsor visibility through various channels, including social media, email campaigns, Belleayre and partner websites, and regional outreach.
- Participate in and support other marketing initiatives, including content for ongoing social media, assistance with snow reporting, attending trade shows, and providing outstanding customer service.
- Assist with Group Sales efforts by helping to identify and solicit sales opportunities, securing reservations, and following up with group leaders about their experience
Community Relations & Regional Outreach:
- Act as a liaison with the Belleayre Region to build community relationships and foster partnerships.
- Represent Belleayre at local meetings and events to increase visibility and engagement.
Financial Management, Event Evaluation, Reporting:
- Maintain and monitor event budgets, ensuring all expenses are tracked and controlled.
- Assess the financial success of events and submit post-event reports with findings and recommendations.
- Maintain records/reports on each event’s attendance, financial performance, and overall effectiveness.
- Gather and analyze post-event feedback to inform future planning and improve guest satisfaction.
Compliance & Safety:
- Assist with the management of liability and legal waivers related to events.
- Ensure all events comply with health and safety regulations and Belleayre’s standards.
- Ensure all events and vendors comply with insurance and permitting requirements.
Skills and Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communication, business administration, or a related field.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Minimum of five years of experience in sales, marketing, or event planning.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Positive, enthusiastic attitude with a proactive approach to work.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel, including the ability to create spreadsheets for budgeting and data management.
- Experience with accounting and budgeting processes.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to work independently and complete tasks with minimal supervision.
- Ability to ski or snowboard on all terrain (preferred).
Licensing Requirement:
- Valid New York State Driver’s License.
Working Conditions:
- Must be comfortable working both indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Willingness to handle paperwork as well as occasional manual labor in event preparation.
- Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and evenings as needed
Physical Demands:
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, lift, and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Manual dexterity to operate standard office equipment.
Salary Range and Benefits:
The salary range for this position is $50,545 to $72,785. The hiring range for this specific position is $50,545 – $56,000 per year. Final offer will be within the hiring range and will be dependent on qualifications and experience.

General Manager
Position Overview
The Belleayre Mountain General Manager is responsible for the overall vision and strategic direction, daily operations, and financial performance of this popular venue in the Catskill Mountains. The successful General Manager will ensure an exceptional guest experience, guide revenue growth and operational efficiency, and direct the team to deliver effective programs in an environment focused on safety, service excellence and continuous improvement.
Duties and Responsibilities
The General Manager is responsible for leading the Belleayre team with vision and integrity, and a commitment to providing an exceptional guest experience while maintaining a long-term focus on the sustainability of the business and the environment. Regular duties include, but are not limited to:
- Develop, implement and lead Belleayre’s overall strategy and vision, aligning operational and service goals with the Olympic Authority’s objectives.
- Provide leadership in managing the day-to-day operation, exceeding guest, employee, and the Olympic Authority’s expectations
- Manage budgets, forecasts, and financial reporting, ensuring cost-effective and efficient operations that increase profitability.
- Collaborate with the Olympic Authority’s Marketing, Communication, & Sponsorship teams on pricing, promotions, media relations, and partnerships
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations
- In conjunction with the People & Organization Development department, oversee employee relations management and labor relations.
- Recruit, hire, train, and manage a high-performing team, fostering a positive work culture.
- Prioritize guest and employee safety by implementing and enforcing high safety standards, protocols and procedures.
- Lead Belleayre’s management staff on the implementation and understanding of employee and operations policy management
- In collaboration with the Venue Employee Experience Representative and Director of People & Organization Development, assess staff development needs for training and skills development, as well as personal career development
- Collaborate with Olympic Authority administrative departments on fiscal management and events coordination
- Collaborate with planners, architects, engineers, and construction inspectors on venue development projects
- Maintain positive and efficient communications within the Olympic Authority organization, as well as with State and local government officials and sports and community partners
- Represent the Olympic Authority at community meetings, be an active member in the community, engage and maintain strong relationships with our community partners.
Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Hospitality, Leisure/Sports Management, or related field
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in managing a year around, leisure destination complex
- A passion for outdoor recreation; advanced skiing/riding ability
- Excellent leadership and communications skills
- Proven problem-solving and analytical skills
- Strong organizational skills with the proven ability to handle multiple priorities and deadlines
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365 with ability to learn and implement new computer programs
- Strategic planning experience is preferred
Salary Range and Benefits:
The salary range for this position is $105,079 to $157,619. The hiring range for this specific position is $110,000 – $124,000 per year. Final offer will be within the hiring range and will be dependent on qualifications and experience.

Health & Safety Supervisor
Position Overview
The Health and Safety Supervisor is responsible for leading on-site initiatives that support and promote a workplace culture that values workplace safety, implementing and coordinating health and safety programs and plans, and assisting with permitting process and safety at special events held at the venue. This position works closely with the venue operations staff and management and reports directly to the General Manager and administratively to the Olympic Authority’s Director, Risk Management.
Duties and Responsibilities
Regular duties include, but are not limited to:
- Supervises all safety initiatives at the venue, as needed.
- Under the Direction of the General Manager and the Director, Risk Management, works with Department Managers and supervisors to implement health and safety workplace programs as needed
- Reviews, documents, and ensures consistency in on-mountain education, signage, fencing and other safety notifications
- Completes venue-wide safety audits and assessments on a regular basis
- Ensures compliance with Olympic Authority, State and local polices and regulations
- Sets up system and maintains the database of ORDA employee contact information
- Oversees the Swift Notification Program, develops the outgoing messages and trains staff on using the program weekly
- Receives all Employee Incident Reports (EIR) forms and processes worker’s compensation claims with PERMA
- Works closely with the Employee Experience department to follow up on injured employee status and completes necessary forms for the Workers’ Compensation Board
- Follows up with departments following employee incidents to complete RCA forms and, if needed, creates new safety guidelines
- Manages all site access agreements and associated documentation
- Assigns on-line safety training coursework, as directed by the Olympic Authority’s Director, Risk Management
- Works with event departments on safety considerations for Special Events as needed
- Organizes permit planning for Events when an event is occurring
- Conducts monthly checks of fire extinguishers, and safety lighting
- Coordinates training in fire life safety, CPR, basic first aid, and venue emergency response
- Reviews employee training programs to ensure that programs address the venue’s higher risk injury categories.
- Conducts annual safety training at the venue
- Promotes safe work practices and reviews and recommends new or changes to existing JHA’s as part of a development process for JHA’s to meet ORDA, OSHA, and PESH requirements as needed
- Has a detailed understanding of safety training programs for all departments; must be able to assist department manager in training of employees as needed
- Reports all potential significant safety issues to the venue Operations Manager, General Manager and Olympic Authority Director, Risk Management
- Reports all significant life-altering injuries immediately to the venue Operations Manager, General Manager and Olympic Authority Director, Risk Management
- Reviews, documents, and ensures consistency in education, signage, fencing, and other safety notifications as needed.
- Addresses compliance and regulatory safety and risk management trends and regulatory focus areas, as directed by the Olympic Authority Director, Risk Management
- Constantly encourages and builds mutual trust, respect and cooperation among team members
- Orders safety supplies using the NYS purchasing policy as supplies, are needed
- Maintains stock and distributes safety supplies to departments, as needed
- Leads by example to promote, improve, and maintain a superior safety performance at the venue
Skills and Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED
- Must complete OSHA 10 certification in 1st year of employment and OSHA 30 by year 2 of employment.
- 3-5 years’ construction or ski venue operations experience required; supervisory experience preferred
- Ski patrol or other first aid experience desired
- Experience in leading and implementing change
- Advanced skiing ability. Must be able to safely access all areas of ski venue.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and other business technology required to efficiently fulfill job requirements.
- Demonstrated ability in analytical, verbal and written communication skills for technical and non-technical individuals.
- Ability to analyze and evaluate data and use good judgement in making decisions.
- Ability to do problem-solving using creative solutions.
- Ability to effectively manage the workload including planning, organizing, prioritizing, follow-up meeting deadlines and paying close attention to details.

Lift Operations Supervisor Assistant
The Olympic Regional Development Authority (Olympic Authority) is seeking a talented, motivated, customer-oriented individual to be its Lift Operations Assistant Supervisor at its Belleayre Mountain. The Lift Operations Supervisor Assistant is full-time, year-round position that is responsible and accountable for assisting the Lift Operations Supervisor in overseeing all daily lift operations at the mountain. This position helps oversees a staff of approximately 65 people during the winter season and reports to the Lift Operations Supervisor. This position is located in Highmount, NY.
Belleayre Mountain is located in the heart of the Catskills and is home to New York State’s first chair lift. Skiers and riders come from a variety of locations including New York City and the Tri-State area and have access to 1,404 feet of vertical drop over 63 alpine trails, in addition to 9.2 kilometers of cross-country ski trails. Recent improvements include summit learning zone, significant lodge expansion, and snowmaking upgrades.
Work is performed on-site and outside at Belleayre Mountain in all weather conditions. Weekend and Holiday work will be required as will work outside the normal workday as is necessary to fulfill obligations. Occasional travel may be required.
Essential Duties (this list is not exhaustive):
- Responsible for assisting in the oversight of the daily lift operations of all ski lifts at Belleayre.
- Ensure that: lifts open on time; staff are providing excellent customer service; there is minimal interruption of lift service; customer concerns are addressed appropriately and efficiently; lift areas are neat, tidy and running efficiently; and paperwork is completed timely and accurately.
- Inspect lifts, lift shacks, loading areas, off ramps, lift lines, and scanning areas several times per day and take any necessary action to ensure continued efficient and safe operations.
- Ensure safety procedures are being adhered to and take corrective action as necessary; to ensure the safety of guests and staff.
- Assist in scheduling of staff, monitor work in progress, direct staff, and provide daily work assignments.
- Monitor all lift operations including RFID gates and take necessary action to ensure safety and efficiency.
- Assist in scheduling necessary breaks to operators and scanners, and work as an operator or scanner if needed.
- Supervisory responsibilities include assisting in assigning work, providing on-hill training, taking corrective actions, educating staff, and recommending formal discipline if required.
- Summer responsibilities will involve planning for the winter season and providing other operational support as assigned; this could include but not limited to Lift Shack upkeep, weed whacking, mowing.
- Summer operations: assisting with staffing and operations of the Gondola Friday-Sundays and weddings. Operation of the climbing wall.
Minimum Qualifications
- Must be proficient at skiing or riding and possess the ability to handle emergency situations calmly and effectively. Must be able to lift 75lbs. Knowledge of Microsoft Office Programs. Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions. Knowledgeable in lift codes. Should possess a high school diploma or equivalent along with a minimum of four (4) years of experience in lift operations, and one (1) year of experience supervising a work crew. Knowledge related to lift operations, risk management, and customer service is required. Must be enthusiastic about providing exceptional customer service.
Other Considerations: In addition to having lift operations experience, the ideal candidate will be an effective team leader. Should be a self-motivator and an effective communicator.
Compensation and Benefits: Wage: This position carries an Entry rate of $26.86/hr.at a Grade 17 under the current CSEA Contract on the Hourly Compensation Schedule. Electrician
Job Summary:
Belleayre, an ORDA managed facility, is seeking a full-time, year-round electrician. The successful candidate will be involved with electrical service; troubleshooting, repair, installation of electrical and systems and equipment including medium voltage distribution; low voltage controls; buildings; ski lifts; voice and data communications, using electrical power from milliamps to 15.8 kV.
Belleayre Mountain, located in the heart of the Catskills, is home to New York State’s first chair lift. Skiers and riders from the New York and Tri-State areas have access to 1,404 feet of vertical drop where they can enjoy 63 alpine trails and 9.2 kilometers of cross-country ski trails. Recent improvements include snowmaking improvements, summit beginner area. Ongoing improvement plans include additional lodge expansion and renovations, and snowmaking upgrades.
Work is performed on-site at Belleayre Mountain in all weather conditions. Weekend and Holiday work will be required as will work outside the normal workday as is necessary to fulfill obligations.
Essential Duties (this list is not exhaustive):
- Understanding and applying blueprints and technical diagrams
- Using various devices, including ammeters, voltmeters, thermal scanners and cable testers, as well as hand and power tools
- Installing or replacing wiring, lighting, electrical controls, breakers and other electrical devices
- Inspecting and maintaining electrical systems around the venue
- Adhering to state and local building regulations
- Prepare and adhere to yearly budgets.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Must be familiar with the electrical code. Excellent oral and written communication skills are required as this person will communicate with vendors on technical information for troubleshooting and repair. Must be able to read and interpret machinery documentation, including prints and schematics, acquiring parts. Minimum of four years’ practical experience and/or documented completion of technical courses and a valid driver’s license.
Wage/Salary:
This position is classified as a Grade 17 on the CSEA/Olympic Authority’s Hourly Compensation Schedule, which carries an Entry rate of $26.86 per hour. Lift Mechanic/Electrician
Full-Time | Year-Round
The NYS Olympic Regional Development Authority (Olympic Authority), the foremost Winter Olympic legacy organization, is seeking a motivated professional to act as its Full-Time Lift Mechanic/ Electrician at Belleayre Mountain. Under the direction of the Lift Maintenance Supervisor, this position is responsible for ensuring the safety and reliability of Belleayre’s lifts through monitoring, maintaining, and repairing aerial ski lifts and conveyors in accordance with all applicable rules and regulations. The candidate must hold a competent mechanical/electrical skill set or show aptitude to learn and practice in support of systems related to ski lift maintenance, operations, and safety
Belleayre Mountain, located in the heart of the Catskills, is home to New York State’s first chair lift. Skiers and riders from the New York and Tri-State areas have access to 1,404 feet of vertical drop where they can enjoy 63 alpine trails and 9.2 kilometers of cross-country ski trails. Recent improvements include a gondola and a quad chairlift with conveyor. This summer will see the installation of another quad lift and additional investment in snow making equipment. Future improvement plans include additional lodge expansion and renovations, new lifts, and snowmaking upgrades.
Work is performed on-site at Belleayre Mountain in all weather conditions. Weekend and Holiday work will be required as will work outside the normal workday as is necessary to fulfill obligations.
Essential Duties (this list is not exhaustive):
- Maintain, repair, operate and clean lift equipment under the direction of the Lift Maintenance Supervisor
- During operating season execute routine lift checks for any existing or potential problems, and plan maintenance and repair
- Execute off-season preventative maintenance and repair
- Correct issues identified
- Adhere and contribute to all safety procedures and protocols and report identified hazards
- Perform other tasks as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Four years of full-time experience under a skilled journeyman mechanic/electrician which would provide training equivalent to that given in an apprentice program. Apprentice training in mechanics/electrical or training gained by completion of technical courses in mechanics/electrical at a school or technical institute may be substituted for the required experience on a year-for-year basis. Knowledge of Doppelmayr lifts/operations. Knowledge in low voltage, reading and electric diagrams. Ability to work in all weather conditions. Applicants must possess a valid current driver’s License. Ability to work comfortably at heights.
Compensation and Benefits:

Lift Maintenance Technician
Full-Time | Year-Round
The Olympic Regional Development Authority (Olympic Authority) is seeking a talented, motivated, mechanically inclined individual to work as a lift maintenance technician at Belleayre Mountain. The Lift Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring the safety and reliability of Belleayre’s lifts through monitoring, maintaining and repairing aerial ski lifts and conveyors in accordance with all applicable rules and regulations. The ideal candidate holds a competent mechanical/electrical skill set or shows aptitude to learn and practice in support of systems related to ski lift maintenance, operations, and safety.
Belleayre Mountain, located in the heart of the Catskills, is home to New York State’s first chair lift. Skiers and riders from the New York and Tri-State areas have access to 1,404 feet of vertical drop where they can enjoy 63 alpine trails and 9.2 kilometers of cross-country ski trails. Recent improvements include a gondola and a quad chairlift with conveyor. This summer will see the installation of another quad lift and additional investment in snow making equipment. Future improvement plans include additional lodge expansion and renovations, new lifts, and snowmaking upgrades.
Work is performed on-site and outdoors at Belleayre Mountain in all weather conditions. Some work may be performed at heights of up to 100 feet. Weekend and Holiday work will be required as will work outside the normal workday as is necessary to fulfill obligations. Occasional travel may be required.
Essential Duties (this list is not exhaustive):
- Maintain, repair, operate and clean lift equipment under the direction of the Lift Department Supervisor
- During operating season execute routine lift checks for any existing or potential problems, and plan maintenance and repair. Daily checks include but are not limited to the following:
- Visually inspect chairs
- Line checks: check sheaves for problems such as bad bearings, liner wear, flat spots
- Drive checks: check all machinery and mechanical parts of the drive station, including fluid levels, brake pads, and hoses
- Return checks: check carriage, guide sheaves, counterweight cables, height of counterweight, return bull-wheel, and liner
- Conduct necessary minor adjustments, preventive maintenance, and repair or replace worn/broken parts
- When mechanical problems are reported, locate and diagnose problems, and plan and perform necessary repairs, and report/document all issues and repairs
- Maintain written logs and records of all maintenance and repair work done
- Maintain accountability for tools, equipment and shop work areas
- Execute off-season preventative maintenance and repair:
- Conduct safety inspections and identify needs for maintenance and repair
- Correct issues identified
- Ensure lift are safe and operable for the upcoming season and will pass annual New York State Department of Labor inspection
- Maintain written logs and records of all maintenance and repair work done
- Maintain accountability for tools, equipment and shop work area
- Provide support to other operational departments as requests
- Adhere and contribute to all safety procedures and protocols and report identified hazards
- Perform other tasks as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications: Current US driver’s license with an acceptable driving record in order to operate ATV’s, snowmobiles and automobiles/trucks is required. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
Other Considerations: Should be a self-motivator who is able to work independently on assigned tasks as well work cooperatively as a member of the lift maintenance team.
Wage: The entry rate is $21.51/hr. at a Grade 14 under the current CSEA Contract. Wage consideration is given for advanced skills and experience: the effective rate for individuals with 3 years of mechanical/electrical experience or prior lift operations experience is $24.21/hr. at Grade 14 under the current CSEA Contract. Trail Maintenance Supervisor

The NYS Olympic Regional Development Authority (Olympic Authority), the foremost Winter Olympic legacy organization, is seeking a motivated professional to act as its Grooming and Trail Maintenance Supervisor at Belleayre Mountain. Under the direction of the Operations Manager, this position is responsible for the grooming and maintenance of all trails and trail related structures, markers, and signage at Belleayre Mountain. The successful candidate will bring knowledge, experience and enthusiasm as they work with a goal–oriented team to help provide a superior and safe guest experience.

- Supervising winter grooming operations and general trail maintenance
- Overseeing crews responsible for grooming, construction, operation, and maintenance of various trails
- Providing status reports
- Create staffing schedules and daily assignments
- Ensuring staff are properly trained
- Attending operations and planning meetings
- Providing executional and maintenance support to the trail maintenance department
- Race and event support; and interacting with clients, partners, and guests.
Minimum Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience in trail grooming.
- 1+ years of supervisory experience
- Passion and professional skills in trail grooming and trail maintenance.
- Valid NYS driver license.
Compensation and Benefits: This position is classified as a Grade 19 on the CSEA/Olympic Authority’s Hourly Compensation Schedule, which carries an Entry rate of $31.18 per hour. The Olympic Authority offers an excellent benefits package per the CSEA contract that includes paid leave (sick, vacation, and personal time), paid holidays, health, dental, and vision coverage, participation in the NYS and Local Retirement System, and optional participation in the NYS Deferred Compensation Plan.
